Cairo – A new scientific study showed that turnip plays an important role in the life of humans – as it combats osteoporosis and joints’ ache. It also provides significant rates of calcium and potassium, which helps strengthening bones and muscles against osteoporosis and aids in reducing joints inflammation. It also noted that eating turnip in childhood might help boosting height.

The study, conducted by Dr. Amani al-Sharif, microbiology professor at the pharmacy school at Al Azhar University in Egypt said this fruit has many benefits because it contains high rates of vitamin K along with many minerals that are considered primordial for skin and for the immune system.

Turnip, which invade markets during winter also contains antioxidant that cleanse body toxins. This characteristics protect individuals from diseases caused by the accumulation of harmful materials like tumors, joints’ inflammations, and asthma.

Sharif said that this fruit contains high rates of important nutrients, thus, the latter urged people to include it in a daily salad plate or to eat it cooked like potatoes.
