A Cornell a US Islamic State supporter was charged 14 Janury 2015 with a plot to attack the US Capitol building in Washington, the Justice Department said. Christopher Lee Cornell, 20, was charged with attempting to kill officers and employees of the United States and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. A criminal complaint says the Cincinnati, Ohio-area man was active on Twitter under the name Raheel Mahrus Ubaydah and had posted videos and statements in support of Islamic State and the waging of violent attacks. An informant cooperating with the FBI reached out to Cornell, who told him that he hoped to conduct a terrorist attack on his own against members of Congress.
