KABUL, (March 27) – An Afghan army soldier killed two U.S. troops before killing himself in northeast Afghanistan on Friday, U.S. military said in a statement.

The Afghan soldier fired at the U.S. soldiers, killing one, and wounding two others, one of whom died later from his injuries, U.S. military added.

The incident happened at around 1000 GMT, before U.S. President Barack Obama unveiled his new strategy review of Afghanistan and Pakistan which includes strengthening Afghan national security forces.
