Riyadh, Asharq Al-Awsat – The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, received Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Saudi Inspector General, following his arrival at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh Friday evening, after the end of his successful journey for treatment, which lasted for more than a year.
Crown Prince Sultan arrived in Saudi Arabia from Agadir, Morocco, where he was spending a period of recovery after receiving treatment at a hospital in the United States to scenes of large official and popular celebrations.
King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz decreed the amnesty of some prisoners of public right to mark the occasion of the return of the Saudi Crown Prince.
In his first act following his return from his successful journey to receive treatment, Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz paid tribute to the success of this season’s Hajj pilgrimage in a speech, and he expressed his great sorrow at what he described as “the tragic events” suffered by the Jeddah governorate with regards to the torrential rain. The Crown Prince said with certainty that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz would not rest until fundamental solutions are developed that ensure that there is no repeat of the “tragedy” that occurred in Jeddah.
Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz also expressed his thanks to all those who had inquired after his health, and in particular Riyadh Governor Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz, who accompanied the Crown Prince throughout his period of treatment abroad.
Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, invited citizens to attend the celebrations that will be held tomorrow to mark the safe return of Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz, following his [return after his] journey for treatment.
