Washington D.C, Asharq Al-Awsat- A Saudi man was killed after a fire broke out at a residence in Richmond , northern California on Tuesday , the police said. A Yemeni man suspected of carrying out the arson attack, was later detained.
Abdullah Saud al Mahri, aged 34, lived in San Pablo in Contra Costa country, California .
local newspaper the Contra Costa Times reported that a man, aged 42 was arrested by the police. According to sources in the Yemeni community, a second man escaped by jumping from a window. He was inured and taken to hospital.
After an argument broke out between the three men on Tuesday night, the Yemeni suspect left the house but returned at 4 am and set fire to the house, killing al Mahri and injuring a second person.
The suspect remains in police custody and is yet to be charge.
