Saudi Expects Deal Soon on Constructing Border Wall with Iraq | ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English Archive 2005 -2017

Riyadh, Asharq Al-Awsat- Saudi Interior Minster, Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz has disclosed the Kingdom’s Interior Ministry was near completing an agreement on building a border wall between Saudi Arabia and Iraq. He said that the calculation of the time frame for completing demarcation of borders between Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar started last week [6 July] with the signature of the joint report. The Interior Minster said that the maritime boundaries have also been demarcated with Qatari officials.

Prince Naif said that the security achievement of Saudi security men lately in arresting a large number of terrorists is considered a natural thing and one of the duties of the Saudi security bodies. He said that all those arrested will be referred to courts soon. He said his ministry did not have sufficient details to talk about the detention by Iran of Saudi fishing vessels. He said these were nothing more than fishing vessels. Prince Naif inaugurated on behalf of Prince Sultan the Deputy of the Custodian of the Twp Holy Shrines the Arab Environmental Legislation Conference, which is due to wind up tonight. A large number of thinkers and specialist in the environmental and legislative domains are participating at the conference, with discussions covering 34 topics on three axes dealing with the environment and legislation, especially legislation in Islam.
