“In line with Article 5 of the Basic Law of Governance, members of the Royal Family pledged allegiance to Crown prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz as the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Following this, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz chose Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz as the Crown Prince in line with Article 5 of the Basic Law of Governance.

Citizens will pledge allegiance to King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz at the Governorate Palace in Riyadh after noon prayers on Wednesday.”
