London-25,5,2005-Fundamentalists have revealed that they held a secret meeting in Central London last week during which they discussed some essential topics including a reformulation of the concepts "realm of war"
(non-Muslim parts of the world) and "realm of Islam," and the future of Muslims living in Europe incase some Muslim extremists perpetrate terrorist operations in European countries.
Fundamentalist leader Omar Bakri, founder of Al-Muhajeroon group, which disbanded itself last year, and general guide of the fundamentalist "Al- Ghuraba" (strangers) movement, said that the meeting was sponsored by the India-based monthly magazine Mustaqbal al-Islam (future of Islam). He added that leaders of the Jihadist Salafi Movement in Britain refused to attend the meeting for purely shari”ah-based and security reasons, although they received invitations to attend.
Meeting organizer Dr Rashid Shaz said in an email to Asharq al-Awsat that the "Islamic nation feels uncertain these days about several issues that confront it and we need to learn what Islam has to say about fighting the enemies in the way in which we are doing it now."
Shaz added: "Some fundamentalist groups have reached a point where they are behaving more like nihilists than Islamists. This is worrisome."
