BAGHDAD (Reuters) -Gunmen have killed a member of Iraq”s parliament and wounded another, a National Assembly spokesman said on Sunday.

Peshro Saeed said Faris Hussein was killed along with three bodyguards on Saturday night near the town of Dujail as he was traveling to Baghdad. Parliament member Haider Qassem was wounded.

Insurgents are waging a bloody campaign of suicide bombings, assassinations and kidnappings in a drive to topple Iraq”s U.S. -backed government.
