Gulf Center in London issues study on phenomena of extremism in GCC Countries - ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English Archive

Riyadh, — A research study entitled &#34The Phenomena of Extremism in The Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries&#34 has been issued by The Gulf Center for Strategic Studies which is based in London.

The research includes six major areas of study, namely pioneer Islamic groups in the GCC countries; the concept of political Islam; the transformation from peace-calling to violence; the concept of terrorism in international law; the role of the GCC countries in combating terrorism after and before 11th September attacks and a preview on the strategies of the GCC countries in combating terrorism.

The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
