EL-ARISH, Egypt (AP) – An Egyptian security official says that a delegation of Hamas and Islamic Jihad officials have crossed the border for talks over a possible truce with Israel and reopening the Rafah border crossing.

The meeting involves Egyptian national security officials and is taking place inside the Rafah crossing terminal Saturday, added the official on customary condition of anonymity.

The two parties are discussing Egypt’s mediation between Hamas and Israel and arrangements to open Rafah terminal and release of 50 Hamas and other Palestinian militants in Egyptian prisons.
