VIENNA, Austria, AP – Iran has granted U.N. nuclear inspectors new access to a high-security nuclear site as part of efforts to avoid referral to the Security Council, diplomats said Wednesday.

The diplomats, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to media about the sensitive U.N. investigation of Iran”s nuclear program, said experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency were allowed to revisit Parchin. Iran had for nearly a year refused IAEA requests for a renewed inspection of Parchin, a site of alleged experiments linked to nuclear arms.
