British consulate convoy attacked in Iraq, 2 dead

Basra, Iraq-A British consulate convoy was hit by a roadside bomb in the southern Iraqi city of Basra on Saturday and two security guards were killed, a British consulate spokeswoman said.

Karen McLuskie said the attack occurred at 9.30 a.m. (0530 GMT) as the convoy was passing through the port city. The nationality of those killed was not immediately known, Reuters reported.
