SANAA, Yemen (AP) – Local officials in a northern Yemeni town say an explosion at the main post office building killed at least five people.

The blast took place in the northern town of Saada and also wounded an undetermined number of others. A Shiite rebellion erupted in the province in 2004, killing thousands.

The officials spoke Saturday on condition of anonymity because an Interior Ministry statement had not yet been issued.

In May, a bomb rigged to a motorcycle blew up amid a crowd of worshippers leaving a mosque in Saada, killing at least 18 people and wounding about four dozen.
