CAIRO, (KUNA) — An Arab League official said on Saturday the League-affiliated Permanent Media Committee was set convene here on Sunday to discuss a 30-topic agenda and prepare for the upcoming meetings of the Arab Information Ministers Council.

Ambassador Muhammad Al-Khamlishi, assistant to the League secretary general for media affairs, said the agenda focuses on three main topics: steering assistance to Arab political causes, coordination amongst Arab media means and institutions and preparations for the Arab information ministers council meetings.

He added the commitee members will also discuss issues related to alleivating the agony of the Palestinian families under occupation, and supporting the Arab identity of Jerusalem and the Palestinian media, and efforts to stop the construction of Israel”s separating wall.

The official mentioned that combating terror was among the most important topics on the meeting”s agenda.

He renewed the Arab stance which denounces all forms and types of international terrorism but also reject mixing terrorism with other concepts.

Head of the committee, Amin Bassioni, said for his part the Arab information ministers” council will launch a website within efforts to work on modernizing Arab joint action.
