Riyadh-The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) closed at 12,019.68 points at the end of May as compared to 11,246.55 at the end of April, an increase of 6.87 percent. A new high was recorded on May 22, when TASI reached 12,729.14 points. For the year to date, TASI has increased by 46 percent.

Market capitalization now stands at SR1.74 trillion [US$464 billion], a rise of 7 percent over April, with the total value of shares traded in May reaching a record SR369 billion [$98.4 billion], an increase of more than 21 percent from the month before. The number of shares traded increased by 42 percent from 869.3 million in April to 1.2 billion in May, with total transactions rising 73 percent from 2.44 million in April to 4.2 million in May.
