Cairo, Asharq Al-Awsat – Director General of the Saudi Telecommunications Company Saud Al-Daweish has reiterated that the company is currently competing to win the third license for a mobile network in Egypt.

In a statement published today in Cairo-based “Al-Ahrar” newspaper, Al-Daweish said all required arrangements have been made to compete winning the license of the mobile network through formation of a consortium comprising the Saudi Telecommunications Company, an Egyptian partner and a Malaysian company.

He pointed that the Saudi Telecommunications Company views the Egyptian market as a strategic expansion zone because it is a promising market for investment due to the big population of Egypt.

Al-Daweish added that, “our company will not be in need for a foreign financier for financing the setting up of the third mobile network, because the company has adequate capabilities and potentialities,”.
