Cairo-Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah confirmed that ISIS’s fatwa regarding permitting counterfeiting international brands and selling them in markets is prohibited by Shariah.

It also said that calls, publications and events organized frequently calling for deporting Muslims from Europe and USA and sending them to Islamic countries are very dangerous and may lead to civil clashes and maybe civil war between Muslims and non-Muslims there.

ISIS has recently issued a fatwa that permits counterfeiting international brands and displaying them in markets. Thus, and as a response, Dar al-Ifta replied that intellectual, literary and artistic property rights, copyrights and names, trademarks and licenses are of the inalienable rights of the owners legally and customarily.

Dar al-Ifta added in its report, which was issued by the Fatwa Monitoring Observatory that money in language means “all what you own”; meaning rights, benefits and objects.

Dar al-Ifta noted that this infringement of intellectual property rights and profiting from them is a matter of consuming people’s wealth unlawfully.

The verse from Holy Quran says: “You who believe! Do not devour your property among yourselves falsely, except that it be trading by your mutual consent; and do not kill your people; surely Allah is Merciful to you.”

Meanwhile, Islamophobia Observatory confirmed that ISIS seeks actively to incite civil strife in Western societies through its operations that target societies there, reflect a wrong image of Muslims and Islam and cause many European and U.S. civilians to adopt aggressive stances against Muslim citizens there.
