Dubai-The audience of both MBC and LBCI channels will enjoy watching all secrets of the cooking world in the first season of “Top Chef” program in its Arabic edition. The jury of the competition includes three renowned chefs: Bobby Chinn, Saudi chef Mona Mosly and Lebanese chef Maroun Chedid, who will be responsible for excluding or keeping one of the fifteen participants of the program in each episode.

Participants in the program are supposed to compete by preparing various platters to deserve the “Top Chef” title.
Every week the contestants will take part in three segments: tests, challenges, and the decision of judges on the table, which will be taken after they taste the prepared platters to announce the winner and the looser at the end of each episode.

Chedid, known for his passion for cooking and his keenness to develop the Arab and Lebanese kitchen, said that his participation in Top Chef represents a high responsibility.

He added that he aims to share all his expertise and experiences with the competitors.

Mosly, a distinguished woman who succeeded in breaking through the cooking world in her country, said that she is proud of her achievement in this field and that many men ask for her advice. Commenting on her participation in Top Chef, she said that this is not her first television appearance but it will definitely be different than other appearances, especially that she will be working with the best cooks in the Arab world, which will improve her performance.

Chinese-Egyptian Chef Bobby Chinn, known for his good humor and nonstop activity, said that everyone has his own style and identity in cooking that mainly reflect the image of his motherland.

The Arabic adaptation of Top Chef, which will be directed by Wassim Sukar, kicked off this week; MBC Group launched the program during a press conference held in the UAE at the Jumeirah Hotel during a special entertainment program.

Mazen Hayek, MBC Group’s official spokesman, said that this program will introduce both entertainment and benefit for its audience.

Concerning the choice of the three judges, he noted that their expertise and origins were the main reason behind their selection, because the program aimed mainly at introducing Arab and international cuisine with an appealing and enjoyable style.
