Beirut- The Lebanese capital is set to host the 24th edition of HORECA exhibition specialized in hospitality and food services. The exhibition, which is organized by “Hospitality Services Company” will host 25 international experts and chefs, in addition to experts in olive oil and fruit cocktails.

German Chef Thomas Boehner, holder of three stars awarded by Michelin Guide, will be the star of this year’s HORECA, which will also host Guillaume Gomez, the Elysee chef, and Thierry Bamas, a renowned French pastry cook, and Chef Fabrice Danniel, assistant culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu, France.

In cooperation with the restaurant owners syndicate in Lebanon, HORECA 2017 plans to honor eight luxurious Lebanese restaurants for their positive contributions in this sector.

In a press conference held at the Phoenicia Hotel, the HORECA 2017’s schedule themed “from Lebanon to the world” was launched, aiming to praise this sector that led Beirut to top the list of better world culinary cities; the conference was attended by the Lebanese Minister of Tourism Avedis Guidanian and many attendees from the industrial and commercial sectors.

Talking to Asharq Al-Awsat, Joumana Dammous Salame, director general of the event’s organizing company “Hospitality Services”, asserted that the 24th edition of this exhibition covers all news and developments in the sector of hospitality and food services.

She also said that the exhibition will be held on the 15,000 square meters of the BIEL hall, as it is expected to see a remarkable participation from Lebanese, Arab, and foreign exhibitors.

Dammous added that this year, the exhibition has expanded by 10 percent compared to last year’s edition.

The event will be opened by Lebanese creative chefs known worldwide, she noted, saying that the exhibition will host international chefs who visit Lebanon for the first time to present live shows, recipes, and advices.

HORECA 2017 will feature daily activities including workshops, cooking shows, competitions, and discussion sessions that focus on motivating cooking fans on recognizing the Lebanese cuisine.

Nouhad Dammous, the founder of Hospitality Services, said that the exhibition certainly contributed to converging different viewpoints among tourism, industry, and trade institutions.
