Washington- Tweets made by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump are raising concerns of the U.S. Department of State that has formed a team of high-rank diplomats to discuss possible way to tackle his tweets after being deployed as a president on the 20th of upcoming January.

According to U.S. customs, all what is stated by the U.S. president represents the country’s policy and officials are permitted to reiterate the president’s statements without being subject to accountability – especially from the White House.

Trump expressed in some of his tweets suspicion over several fixed standards in the U.S. policy such as the One-China policy and whether the U.S. will defend its allies in the NATO — which actually caused confusion inside and outside the country, according to Reuters.

A diplomat said, “I never hesitated to take the statements and news conferences of Trump seriously as a representation of the state’s policy.” He added, “But what about the tweets? How can we tackle them?”

Another official wrote that comments made by Trump should be taken “seriously and figuratively” unlike those made by U.S.
President Barack Obama which must be taken “seriously and literally”.

He added that Trump seems willing to add vagueness to some topics for the sake of exerting pressure and reaching settlements that serve U.S. interests.
