BERLIN – A pig’s head with a written insult against German Chancellor Angela Merkel was found by the Germany police at the entrance to her constituency office in the northeastern town of Stralsund on Saturday, state police said.

There is no further information in regard of the incident, noting that the police refused to reveal a lot of details about the insult to media, on the ground that an investigation had been launched.

Adding that Merkel’s popularity has diminished because of her liberal migrant policy which welcomed more than a million migrants in Germany last year. Those flowing to the country are either fleeing war or running away from poverty in the Middle East and Africa.

Now there are common concerns about how Europe’s largest economy will be able to integrate all of these refugees.

An INSA poll published on Wednesday showed that almost half of Germans did not want her to stay in office for a fourth term after an election next year.
