Islamabad– The Second meeting of the World Islamic Forum (WIF) will be held in Islamabad in November this year, according to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

Talking to Tan Sri Musa Hitan, Former Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister, Aziz said WIF will provide a platform for interaction and networking between government bodies, civil society and business communities and will promote more investment and trade between various regions.

The Prime Minister said that the Forum will address the key, issues

facing the Muslim society ranging from business and economics to energy resources. “It will help identify and adopt best practices, sharing of latest knowledge and will promote business and investment opportunities among Muslim business.”

Aziz said the Forum will promote dialogue and inter-faith harmony between peoples belonging to various faiths.

“Muslim have an open mind and respect the faiths and view points of other religions”, said the Prime Minister.

The Forum held its first meeting in October 2005 in Kuala Lumpur.
