BAGHDAD (AP) – The U.S. military says it has captured four suspected members of a Shiite militant group allegedly trained and funded by Iran.

The military says the four members of Kataib Hezbollah, which the U.S. believes is distinct from the Lebanese group with a similar name, were detained Monday in two separate operations in east Baghdad’s Rusafa district. They say the four are responsible for recent attacks on U.S. and Iraqi forces.

The Iranians have denied links to Shiite extremist groups.
