Tashkent, Uzbekistan– The United States on Saturday again warned of possible terror attacks against Americans in Uzbekistan, even as a departure order for some U.S. embassy personnel and family members was lifted.

The U.S. State Department last month authorized the departures following the May 13 violence in the eastern city of Andijan in which government troops violently put down an uprising.

A statement posted on the embassy Web site on Saturday said the departure order for non-emergency staff was being lifted, but warned of new terror acts.

&#34The U.S. Embassy in Tashkent is no longer on authorized departure status for nonemergency personnel and all eligible family members; however, the United States Government continues to receive

information that indicates that terrorist groups may be planning future attacks, possibly against U.S. interests, in Uzbekistan,&#34 The Associated Press quoted the statement as saying.
