BAGHDAD (AP) – Two separate bomb attacks in Iraqi killed two U.S. soldiers and wounded 11 others, the military announced Friday.

One blast on Thursday hit soldiers from the Multinational Division-North as they conducted combat operations in the Diyala province, northeast of Baghdad, the military said in a statement. One soldier was killed and nine others were wounded in that incident, the military said.

In the second attack, in eastern Baghdad, one Multi-National Division-Baghdad soldier was killed and two others wounded when a bomb exploded near their patrol Thursday, the military said. The unit had been responsible for recent operations in the area that detained five suspected insurgents and uncovered a weapons cache, the military said.

The identities of the soldiers killed were not released pending notification of relatives.

The deaths raised to at least 3,385, the members of the U.S. military who have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
