Fallujah- An Iraqi medical source, yesterday, reported six civilians dead due to starvation in Falluja city, west of Baghdad. The source told a German news agency that the death toll includes three children who passed away due to dehydration caused by malnutrition.
Dr. Jamal al-Falluji said in a phone call from within the Fallujah’s public hospital, where the children had died, “the hospital today has registered three children dead, because of the dehydration they have been long suffering and malnutrition caused by the imposed besiegement over the city.”
The medical caretaker confirmed that the majority of those living in Fallujah now are at the brink of death due to starvation, and are being admitted into the hospital in large numbers seeking medication. What is striking -for all the wrong reasons- is that the physician sent out a cry for help, as medication which has been drained out completely has rendered hospitals as hollow buildings overrun by sick people and doctors who have no supplies on their hands.
Other sources said that the besiegement imposed by Iraqi army forces over Fallujah, as to keep ISIS militants from escaping the area, is ravaging the humanitarian state-of-affairs there and shredding out the lives of civilians, who each day are a starving step closer to death or are taken down by random bombardment, a cruel reality of being caught between two fires.
