JERUSALEM (AP) – Israel’s army says a Thai worker has been wounded by a rocket fired from Gaza.

The man was at work Saturday in a chicken coop in an Israeli communal farm near Gaza. The army says he was injured by shrapnel and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Palestinian militants in Gaza frequently fire rockets and mortars at neighboring Israeli communities. That often prompts a harsh Israeli response.

Egyptian officials are trying to negotiate a truce between the two sides, but so far talks haven’t succeeded.
