London- Many villages in Hasakah countryside were liberated from ISIS control; yet this did not save civilians from the regime rage. The regime prepared a list of hundreds of teachers to be detained after being accused of attending lessons given by ISIS lecturers in the past two years.

Sources in Hasakah told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that the new resolution stipulates dismissing teachers, arresting others and withholding salaries of all those who did not enroll in the regime self-defense forces.

During ISIS ruling of Hasakah, it issued new extremist curriculums to be taught in schools and obliged teachers to attend mosques to repent.

ISIS also laid hands over properties of dozens of teachers who lived outside regions it dominated. It considered those teachers as disbelievers, making it “legal” to take their money and properties. Women, men and also the retired teachers were all asked to go to certain locations within a specific duration to declare repentance.

Despite the fact that ISIS did not prevent employees from earning money from the regime-ran facilities, the repentance documents stipulate that God is the only provider and depending on the regime is not allowed. This item made civilians’ fate linked to ISIS whims.

Hundreds of teachers escaped from ISIS-ruled regions to neighboring countries, however many of them still live there. Those who chose to stay are raising the regime’s concerns. Both parties, the regime and the opposition, are pressuring them to fight and take side at a time when immigration has become similar to hell; it is like Syrians are escaping from one death to another, especially that most countries are now imposing strict procedures to combat illegal immigration.
