MOSCOW (AP) – Russian news agencies say a woman strapped with explosives barged through a line of police as they fought militants in Ingushetia, shot an officer to death and then blew herself up.

The incident in the village of Ekazhevo was the sixth suicide bombing in Russia since twin blasts on the Moscow subway killed 39 people on March 29.

The RIA-Novosti and Interfax news agencies said the bombing Friday took place as police were battling three suspected militants blockaded in a house. The militants also blew themselves up, RIA-Novosti said.

Ingushetia is part of the violence-plagued North Caucasus region that includes Chechnya. Chechen separatist militant leader Doku Umarov claimed responsibility for the Moscow subway bombings.
