Manama – Egyptian President Abdul-Fattah al-Sisi reiterated his country’s commitment to support Bahrain and preserve the safety and security of Arab Gulf States.

Sisi concluded his visit to Bahrain on Tuesday, after meeting with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with whom he discussed strong and historical ties between the two countries, as well as latest developments on the Arab and regional levels.

In remarks during the meeting, King Hamad hailed Egypt’s firm and steadfast stances and longstanding contribution to Bahrain’s security, stability, and development.

He blamed periods of unrest on foreign parties, which he said tried to target the security and stability of both countries.

King Hamad lauded the Egyptians for their courage, which he said enabled them to protect their country from “ignorant and criminal people”.

He also said that Egypt assumes a pivotal role by seeking to safeguard and support Arab and Islamic countries, including the GCC member states.
The Egyptian president, for his part, stressed the need for Arab cooperation to counter the intervention of foreign forces in the affairs of Arab countries.

During his official visit to Bahrain, Sisi also met with top officials to discuss the strengthening of bilateral ties and ongoing security issues.

On Tuesday, the Egyptian president met with Bahrain Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla.

According to an official statement, Sisi said Cairo “places a high priority on supporting Manama and preserving the security and stability of all Gulf nations.”

The Egyptian president expressed his appreciation for Bahrain’s stances in support of Egypt while reaffirming his country’s keenness to boost coordination between the two countries.

The Bahraini Speaker said that the Egyptian president’s visit has proved the willingness to strengthen bilateral relations at all levels.
