Peshawar- A speeding oil tanker slammed into a passenger bus on a road in northwestern Pakistan on Saturday, killing 17 people and injuring two others, an area police official said.

The accident happened on Indus Highway, about 150 kilometers (90 miles) south of Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province. Police official Iqbal khan was quoted by The Associated Press as saying that rescue teams had transported the dead and injured to a hospital.
