Saudi security official: Iraqi infiltrators arrested - ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English Archive

Riyadh – Saudi security forces arrested Four Iraqi nationals last night in Al-Jubail governorate in Eastern Province, According to Interior Ministry Spokesman Major General Mansur Al-Turki. The four Iraqis who were in the kingdom illegally where involved in a car theft and smuggling operation.

Major General Turki told The Saudi Press Agency that when the security patrol approached them, they began shooting and were trying to escape. The security forces returned fire-causing injury to one of the Iraqis. The injured infiltrator was taken to a hospital for treatment while the other three infiltrators were arrested and the two stolen cars were seized from them.

&#34Moreover, the investigations also revealed that they had a fifth collaborator who was arrested in the late hours of the night,&#34 Major General Al-Turki said. &#34the investigation is still in progress,&#34 he added.
