London, Asharq Al-Awsat – The following is a statement issued by the Saudi Press Agency [SPA] on Thursday 10 March 2011:

Upon directives of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, Private: Hamid Mohammad Al-Qahtani, a soldier at the Special Emergency Force in the Eastern Region who has recently been wounded, was airlifted from King Fahd Medical Complex to the Internal Security Forces in Riyadh on a medical evacuation aircraft affiliated to the Armed Forces.

At the King Abdulaziz Airbase, the soldier was seen off by Deputy-Governor of the Eastern Region Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musa’ad, who conveyed to the family of the wounded soldier the greetings of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Interior, Prince Mohammad bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs, and their wishes for the wounded soldier’s quick recovery.
