Riyadh, Jeddah-Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received on Wednesday a telephone call from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey.

During the telephone conversation, they reviewed bilateral relations and discussed issues of common interest.

Furthermore, King Salman met on Wednesday with Commander of U.S. Central Command Joseph Votel and his accompanying delegation.

The two parties reviewed bilateral relations, and discussed a number of issues of common concern.

The meeting was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz; Dr. Adel al-Turaifi, minister of Culture and Information; Khaled al-Issa, minister of state, member of the Cabinet and president of the Royal Court; Lieutenant General Rukon Abdulrahman al-Banyan.

It was also attended by U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Timothy Lenderking; Consul General in Jeddah, Todd Holmstrom; and a number of other officials.

For his part, Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, met in Jeddah Wednesday with Votel.

The two parties discussed during the meeting aspects of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the defense field.

Their meeting was attended by Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman al-Banyan, Fahd al-Issa, and a number of officials from the two countries.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior also met with Votel as they discussed a number of issues of mutual concern, including ways to strengthen security ties between the Kingdom and the U.S., especially regarding cooperation in the joint fight against terrorism and the latest developments in the region.
