A member of the security forces was wounded on Sunday in a shooting in the eastern al-Qatif region in Saudi Arabia, announced a spokesman for the Eastern Province police on Monday.

The shooting took place at 6:00 pm when the members of the security forces was driving his personal vehicle on an agricultural road in al-Qatif.

He was wounded by shrapnel from the broken glass of his car, exlained the spokesman.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, two citizens, one in his 50s and another in his 30s, were wounded in a shooting in the town of al-Awamiya. They have since been taken to hospital and their condition is stable.

The spokesman said that the concerned authorities in al-Qatif police force have kicked off criminal proceedings in the three crimes to uncover their motives and perpetrators.
