Jeddah- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent a cable of condolences and sympathy to President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the victims of the Gaziantep explosion.

In his cable, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed profound sadness for the explosion that took place in Gaziantep, resulting in fatalities and injuries of dozens of innocent people.

“We strongly condemn this terrorist act and share with your Excellency and the Turkish people the feelings of pain and sadness for this incident.”

“On my behalf and on behalf of the people and government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we express our condolence and sympathy to your Excellency, the families of victims and the people of Turkey; appealing to Allah Almighty to bestow his mercy on the dead, wishing the injured quick recovery, and to preserve Turkey and its people from any harm,” the monarch added.

For their parts, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, second deputy premier and minister of defense, also sent cables of condolences and sympathy to Erdogan.

In their cables, they said separately: “With profound sadness, I have been informed of the news of the explosion which took place in Gaziantep, resulting in fatalities and injuries of dozens of innocent people.”

“Let me express to your Excellency, my strong denunciation to this terror act, which is criminalized by all divine religions and international norms and charters, and express my condolence and sympathy to your Excellency, the families of victims and the people of your country, appealing to Allah Almighty to bestow his mercy on the victims; wishing the injured quick recovery and to preserve the Republic of Turkey and its people from any harm.”

An official source at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Saudi Arabia’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist suicide bombing that targeted a wedding party in the state of Gaziantep in Turkey on Saturday night, which killed 51 people and injured dozens.

The source reiterated the Kingdom’s full solidarity with Turkey and stressed that it stands by Turkey in combatting terrorism.
