Deputy Crown Prince, German Defense Minister Review Bilateral Relations and Discuss Efforts to Combat Terrorism (SPA)


Riyadh- Saudi Defense Minister Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman met in Riyadh on Thursday visiting German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen. The two discussed bilateral relations and means of bolstering them, especially defense.

Middle East developments and counterterrorism efforts were discussed at the meeting as well.

A number of officials attended the meeting, among which was German Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dieter Haller.

Saudi Defense Minister Assistant Mohammed Ayesh, Chief of General Staff Abdul Rahman Al Bonyan, and Royal Court Advisor Fahd al-Issa, and defense minister military adviser General Ahmed Asiri and other officials from the Saudi ministry of defense attended the meeting.

Leyen’s visit encompassed desire to conclude a deal for training Saudi military officers, the German Embassy in Riyadh reported in a statement.

The visit would finalize the talks on enhanced cooperation in the training sector.
