Riyadh– Over 759,000 products violating the standards of Saudi Energy Efficiency Center were seized during the first six months of 2017, according to Saudi Customs.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Customs announced it seized 759,846 “energy efficiency” products including air conditions, washing machines, refrigerators, 200 electric engines, 483.547 lighting products and 212,845 wheels.

The center stated that from January 1st till June 30, hundreds of thousands of products violated the standards of Energy Efficiency and were not allowed inside of Saudi Arabia.

The statement also discussed the efforts of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Program to ban the entry of violating products into the Saudi territory including ones that consume a high level of energy.

The center aims to preserve the national wealth of energy resources, which consequently strengthen development and national economy, and achieve the lowest levels of possible consumption in comparison to the general national product and population.
