The Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz who is also the First Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee stressed that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz bestows a great amount of care and attention upon the two holy mosques and visitors to them including pilgrims performing the major and minor pilgrimages. He also emphasised King Salman’s strong endeavours, continuous monitoring and permanent directives that ensure that the care provided by all concerned parties is up to the required standard.

Whilst chairing the Supreme Hajj Committee meeting that took place in his office at the ministry yesterday, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef also stressed in the presence of members of the Committee that “we will fight anyone who even thinks of jeopardising the security of the Hajj and pilgrims or disregards the sanctity of Mecca and the house of God which He made a place of return for the people and a place of security”.

Prince Mohammed bin Nayef said that the work of state agencies and sectors concerned with Hajj and pilgrims will continue as usual after the Hajj season and that every one of these seasons is subject to a detailed review where all aspects of the performance of this lofty mission is investigated in order to strengthen the positive aspects and avoid the negative aspects of the services and facilities provided to pilgrims and visitors.

On his part, Dr Saed Al-Harithy, the secretary-general of the Supreme Hajj Committee and Adviser to the Minister of Interior explained that a comprehensive report on the last Hajj season was presented at the meeting. The report evaluated the performance of all agencies concerned during that season.

After that, a number of topics on the agenda related to the affairs of Hajj and pilgrims were discussed.
