Jeddah – Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, praised the border guards’ missions which proved their distinguished abilities in carrying out their tasks, praising their achievements on the borders of the Kingdom which thwarted many failed attempts.

Crown Prince stressed the need to attend to personnel, enhancing self-security and raising preventive level of the border guards while carrying out their field work.

He discussed several operational and vital aspects related to the implementation of border guard strategies.

Prince Mohammed delivered a speech at the Mohammed bin Naif Academy for Marine Science and Studies in Jeddah during his patronage of the closing session of the annual meeting of border guards leaders in the regions.

In his speech, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Director General of the Border Guards and the border guards, noting that he is honored to meet men fighting to defend their religion and homeland and repel enemies.

“Your spirit and determination distinguish you,” the Prince told the guards adding: “Thank God the kingdom has men who sacrifice everything to protect their religion, king, and country.”

Prince Mohammed called for exerting all efforts to implement the recommendations of the meeting and solve the problems that may face them.

The Crown Prince visited the building of the navigation simulators and training Unit and was briefed on the training simulators of the ships and patrol boats. He also viewed the latest weapons systems provided to the border guards and was briefed on them.

The prince was accompanied by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Minister of Interior and a number of princes and senior officials.

On Wednesday afternoon, Prince Mohammed patronized Tofan (floods) VII maneuver and graduation ceremony of 6021 border guard courses graduates.

Prince Naif was accompanied to the event by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud and they were received by Prince Abdullah bin Bandar, deputy governor of Makkah, Prince Saud bin Abdullah, deputy commander for security affairs of the Emirate of Makkah Region, Border Guard Director General Maj. Gen. Awad bin Eid al-Balawi and senior Border Guard officials.

The Crown Prince and the audience watched a documentary on the efforts of the Crown Prince and his follow-up of establishing the security aviation in its new shape and its services to the security sectors and government agencies. The film also included a presentation of many of the functions of the security aviation, especially in the seasons of Ramadan and pilgrimage.

Tofan VII simulated action taken to deter terrorist attacks against vital sites and important islands and included marine and land border units, with the participation of the newly introduced and managed units based on a new operational concept, as well as several security planes from the Interior Ministry.

In a speech, the director general of border guard General Awad bin Eid Al-Balawe announced that as many as 52 females have joined a security inspection training course this year.

He said integrated border security involves the collaboration of security officers from land and maritime facilities, which greatly contribute to securing the stability of the country and is vital to preserving the national identity, and developing the economy.

Balawi added that securing the northern border, as per the instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the marine development project and the integrated security project are proof of the country’s capability to enhance border security.

Balawi highlighted the female participation in the training; 52 female security inspectors received training this year during the security training course for border guard inspectors.
