Madinah – Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister and General Supervisor of Naif bin Abdulaziz International Prize of Prophetic Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies has confirmed that the Islamic approach qualifies the Muslim individual and pays attention to his upgrading to be good and useful in his society and an active player in the renaissance of the nation.

“The minds of many people, especially the young, are preoccupied with social networking sites, and hence it necessitates us to take advantage of this medium for Islamic propagation in a way benefitting citizens and the nation,” said the Crown Prince.

Prince Muhammad Bin Naif spoke on the occasion of the commencement of “The First Conference of Social Networks Controls in Islam” organized by International Award for Prophetic Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies with the participation of the Islamic University of Madinah, on Tuesday.

The Crown Prince underscored the need for effective use of social media to highlight and foster the sublime values of Islam as well as the position of the divine religion on various issues in the religious, political, economic, moral, military and humanitarian and other fields.

In his speech, the Prince also said that the Muslim individual is an integral part of the fabric of his nation, having his rights guaranteed by Islam stipulating for carrying out his duties towards his nation such as respecting Islam as a comprehensive Sharia carrying goodness, maintaining the principles of the nation and protecting its coexistence which couldn’t be achieved but by respecting the nation’s public and private frameworks.

Adviser to the Interior Minister, Secretary General of the Award and Chairman of Supreme Committee of the Conference, Saed al-Orabi al-Harthi pointed out that the adoption of Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud International Award for Prophetic Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies of this Conference emanates from the message of the award toward the importance of building the mentality of the individual Muslim in the light of the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah.

Participants in the two-day Conference include a number of scholars, intellectuals and professionals in electronic media from 24 countries who presented 245 researches.
