Jeddah- Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, met at his office in Jeddah Tuesday with UN Secretary-General’s envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.

During the meeting, both sides discussed developments in the Yemeni arena and the efforts exerted towards them.

The meeting was attended by Head of General Intelligence Khalid al-Humaidan.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia aims to support and develop civil aviation in Yemen by providing the operational requirements of the liberated airports in the country to reach the desired level of operation, following the similar outcomes of the coordination meeting that was held between the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in Saudi Arabia with its counterpart in Yemen.

The meeting discussed a number of issues related to air transport between the two countries and means of developing it, supporting the activities of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology in Yemen, discussing many technical issues that support the operation of liberated airports in Yemen, coordinating the efforts in the aviation industry and continuing the support provided for Yemen to reach the required operating level.

Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation Abdulhakim al-Tamimi said that the relation between the two countries is strong and firm.

Tamimi confirmed that the coordination meeting, which was attended by specialists and officials in the fields of aviation from the two countries, made several recommendations that support the Kingdom’s target to support and develop civil aviation in Yemen and provide some operational requirements.
