Riyadh – Saudi Cabinet hailed on Monday the constructive role assumed by the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, in fighting terrorism and seeking to achieve stability and peace in the region and the world.

In this context, the Cabinet highly valued Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister’s receipt of the “George Tenet Medal” for distinguished intelligence action in the field of counter-terrorism, in recognition of his unlimited contributions to achieving international security and peace.

The Cabinet stressed that this medal “reflects the great appreciation for the Kingdom’s efforts in rejecting terrorism in all its forms.”

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques chaired the Cabinet session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday.

In a statement issued following the meeting, Minister of Culture and Information Adel bin Zaid Altoraifi said that the King briefed the Cabinet on a number of issues, including his recent talks with President Rustam Minnikhanov of Republic of Tatarstan and the message received from President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates.

He also briefed the Cabinet on his meeting with U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres, with whom he discussed U.N. efforts to achieve international peace and security.

Altoraifi added that the Cabinet lauded U.S. state secretary’s comments, in which he expressed U.S. appreciation of the Kingdom’s efforts to establish stability in the region and the important role it is assuming to achieve peace in the world.
