Riyadh- The Council of Ministers reiterated the state’s support to Bahrain against terrorism and extremism, denouncing the attack against a Bahraini prison, which has left one soldier dead.

Chairing the Cabinet session at Al-Yamama Palace in Riyadh, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz spoke about the outcome of his talks with President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger and his meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Borge Brende.

The Council lauded the directive of King Salman to hike the quota of both domestic and foreign pilgrims. The Cabinet said that the King’s directive shows his care for Muslims and his efforts to provide the best services to pilgrims and visitors of the Two Holy Mosques.

Minister of Information and Culture Dr. Adel Bin Zaid Al-Tarifi stated, following the session, that the Cabinet commended the achievements of security agencies in monitoring and fighting terrorism, defeating aggressors and thwarting any attempt to target the country’s security and stability.

After reviewing the Royal Decree No (12297) dated 12/03/1438 AH on the appointment of Dr. Ghassan bin Abdulrahman Al-Shibel as a Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Organization of Saudi Arabian Airlines and after reviewing a report on reformation of the Organization’s Board, the Cabinet decided the following:

1 – Representatives of the Ministries of Economy, Planning, Civil Service and Finance, and Public Investment Fund shall be members of the Board of Directors of General Organization of Saudi Arabian Airlines.

2 – Appointment of Abdullah bin Saleh bin Juma’h Al-Dossari, Abdul Mohsen bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris, Mutlaq bin Hamad Al-Moraished, Sami bin Ali Sindi and Abdullah bin Suleiman Al-Rubaiaan (representatives of the private sector) as members of the Board of Directors of General Organization of Saudi Arabian Airlines.

The Cabinet also approved the addition of Minister of Finance to the membership of the Board of Directors of Saudi Arabian National Center For Measurement of Performance of Public Agencies.

Furthermore, after reviewing a report of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance and the recommendation of Council of Economic Affairs and Development dated on 13/3/1438 AH, the Cabinet approved the division of Agency for Affairs of Mosques, Call and Guidance of Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, into two agencies as follows: Agency for Mosques Affairs and Agency for Call and Guidance Affairs.

Other decisions were also taken by the Cabinet.
