Riyadh-King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid has provided relief assistance worth SR1.6 billion to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni citizens on the first anniversary of the establishment of the center.

Also, more than 4,000 injured Yemenis received treatment in Saudi, Jordanian and Sudanese hospitals as the Kingdom bore the treatment expenses and the center transported the injured Yemenis and those accompanying them to these hospitals.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud laid the foundation stone for the Center in Riyadh on May 13, 2015, in the presence of Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and a number of representatives of international relief organizations.

The king back then ordered to allocate SR one billion for the center to be added to the $274 million provided by the Kingdom on April 18, 2015.

The aim of founding the center was clarified by King Salman when he patronized its opening and said: “King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid is an international leading center in providing relief to afflicted communities aiming at alleviating its sufferings and providing a respectable life to its people.”

HRH added, “the center shall pay full attention to relief and humanitarian needs of the, very dear to our hearts, Yemeni people.”

“The Kingdom is among the 10 top countries in the world in the value and volume of aid to alleviate the suffering of people,” according to adviser to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah.

Last year the Kingdom occupied the 6th position on the list of 10 top countries granting developmental assistance, according to UN statistics.

The total amount spent by the Kingdom in the relief aid program during the past four decades reached $115 billion from which over 90 countries benefited.
