Riyadh-The Saudi Cabinet valued what member countries in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have confirmed in their final statement issued by the Executive Committee of the organization at the level of Foreign Ministers during its emergency meeting held in Jeddah to discuss the dangerous developments of launching a ballistic missile by al-Houthi militias toward Makkah.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, chosen by Allah Almighty to bear the honor of full responsibility for the service and care of the Two Holy Mosques, the holy sites and pilgrims since its foundation, will not neglect this sacred trust,” the Saudi Cabinet stated.

“Those supporting the terror group and providing it with weapons and ballistic missiles are partners in the attack on the sanctity of the religious sites, a clear party in planting sectarian strife and a key supporter of terrorism,” it added.

The Saudi Cabinet session was held under the chairmanship of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who briefed the Cabinet on the phone call with President Michel Aoun of Lebanon.

The king reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for unity in Lebanon, and he briefed the cabinet with the invitation received from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates.

King Salman also briefed the Cabinet with the outcomes of his talks with President Yunus-bek Yevkurov of Republic of Ingushetia and Member of Political Bureau of Central Committee, Secretary of Central Legal Political Committee and Special Envoy to Chinese President Meng Jianzhu.

Following the session, Acting Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed, minister of State and Cabinet’s member told the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet commended the expressions of praise by Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency for the stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its clear policy on nuclear disarmament and its non-proliferation.

He said that the Cabinet also praised the steps taken by the Kingdom of the inclusion of energy within the national transformation program and joint projects between the two sides as well as the Kingdom’s support for the establishment of nuclear security center and its donations to renovate the agency’s laboratories.

The Cabinet also discussed the outcome of the Energy Dialogue Forum 2016 held in Riyadh.

Kingdom’s signing of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, which reflects the importance being accorded by Saudi Arabia to climate change, was also welcomed by the Cabinet.

The Cabinet reviewed a number of activities and events including the work of the Fourth Saudi International Conference on Information Technology for 2016 organized by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology entitled “Massive Data Analysis” as well as Saudi-Qatari Economic Forum.

It praised the efforts being made by security agencies to curb narcotic smuggling and trafficking.
