Cairo-Amidst the official and public preparations for receiving King Salman in Egypt following an official invitation from the Egyptian President Abd Al Fattah Al Sisi, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt, Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Kattan, the permanent representative to the Arab League and the Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps in Cairo described the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ visit to Cairo as “historical and unprecedented”.

Kattan said in a statement on Wednesday that this visit confirms the deep relation between the two countries, pointing out that since the beginning of this relation in 1926 up until today; it has been developing and growing on all levels year after another.

“Egypt and Saudi Arabia are the wings of Arab nation’s stability, and the unity in visions and stances between the two countries is one of the major factors that preserve stability in the Middle East,” Kattan said.

A delegation from the Saudi Royal Court arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to prepare for the visit of the Saudi King.

Parliament Deputy Speaker Suleiman Wahdan said on Wednesday that King Salman will visit the Egyptian parliament on Sunday during his visit to Egypt and might attend part of the session, which is allocated to discuss the report of the Special Commission that is in charge of tackling the government’s program.

In press statements, he added that the Saudi king might deliver a speech on Sunday during the parliament session, which is the first for HRH to attend.

“The anticipated visit by the Saudi monarch is historic given the high Arab status and caliber of King Salman,” added the MP.

Wahdan explained that the Egyptian Cabinet expressed its deep appreciation of this historic visit that aims at entrenching and consolidating relations between the two countries.

Wahdan also stressed that the visit will open up great prospects for cooperation between the two states in various fields, and enhance their joint efforts to face external challenges and fight terrorism. The visit is also expected to involve discussions on the situation in some Arab countries and ways to consolidate Arabs.

In the same context, Essam Al-Amir, head of the state-run Egyptian Radio and TV Union, guided the union’s sectors responsible for the media coverage of King Salman’s visit in an appropriate way that reflects the weight of this visit.

Emir confirmed the importance of coordinating between the Saudi and Egyptian Televisions on the live broadcast for all the visit’s details and the broadcast of joint news from both TVs.

He added that all the logistic and technical equipment will be provided to cover the visit using the channels’ external cars and by combining channels and radio stations of the Radio and Television Union in a joint broadcast the moment King Salman arrives.

For his part, Head of the television sector at the Egyptian Radio and Television Union, Magdi Lashin, said that they coordinated with the Saudi parties to arrange three events on TV.
