Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques receives a delegation from Middle East Group of British Conservative Party (SPA)


Riyadh – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received at al-Yamamah Palace on Tuesday a delegation from Middle East Group of British Conservative Party headed by Helen Whately.

During the meeting, they reviewed relations of friendship between the two countries and aspects of cooperation, particularly between the Shura Council and the British Parliament.

The audience was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Minister of State and Cabinet’s Member Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz al-Assaf, Minister of Culture and Information Adel bin Zaid al-Toraifi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir and Deputy Speaker of Shura Council Mohammed Amin al-Jafri.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior also received at the Ministry the delegation from Middle East Group of British Conservative Party. During the meeting, they discussed a number of topics of common interest.

The meeting was attended by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to Minister of Interior, Deputy Minister of Interior Abdulrahman bin Ali al-Rubaia’n, Director General of General Investigation, General Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al-Huwairini, Chief of General Intelligence Khalid bin Ali al-Humaidan, and Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Mohammed Amin al-Jafri.

In addition, Crown Prince Mohammed met with British Prime Minister Theresa May.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways of enhancing them in all fields. They also discussed the joint cooperation to combat extremism and fight terrorism in addition to the latest developments in the region and the two countries’ stances towards them.

Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, also received the delegation from Middle East Group of British Conservative Party. During the meeting, they reviewed the Saudi-UK friendly relations and discussed issues of common interest.

Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed reviewed bilateral relations with PM May. They also discussed latest developments in the region and efforts exerted by the two countries to achieve security and stability in the region, especially the fight against terrorism.

The meeting was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom; Minister of Trade and Investment Majid bin Abdullah al-Qasabi; Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubair and a number of officials.

British PM and her accompanying delegation arrived on Tuesday on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

She was received at King Salman Airbase Airport by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Minister of Commerce and Investment Majed al-Qasabi, British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Simon Collis, and a number of officials.
