Makkah-In a speech marking Eid Al Fitr, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz warned his country would strike with an “iron fist” against people who preyed on youth vulnerable to extremism, a day after suicide bombers struck three cities in an apparently coordinated campaign of attacks.

King Salman also stated that the dispute and rift the Muslim world suffers today compels all efforts to be spent to bolster unity and cooperation as to resolve the issues faced by the Muslims.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman further added that the greatest challenge facing Muslims worldwide is the preservation of its true value, identity and hope for a better future, referring to the youth prone to extremism and radicalization.

The King also reiterated that principals, morals and values promoted by Islam do not accept nor coincide with the malicious behavior and actions yielded from extremism and terrorism.

“The kingdom is fully determined to strike with an iron fist all those who aim at the minds or ideas of our dear young people,” King Salman said, in an address to the nation for the Islamic feast of Eid al-Fitr.

The King also stated that the society understands the partnership and burden it shares with the government in the fight against extremist and malevolent ideology.

Led by the teachings of Islam, and aware of the Kingdom’s place at the core of the Muslim world, the King expressed the honor felt in serving Islam and supporting Muslims around the world – as to defend all their legitimate suits, with the Palestine question being on top of that list.

Concluding his speech, King Salman called on everyone to keep optimistic and hope for a better future and a brighter tomorrow.
